International 9/11 Remembrance Book

"Remembering 9/11 Through the Eyes of a Printmaker"

This book was put together to show how artist printmakers from all over the world might interpret the September 11, 2001 terror attacks and translate those impressions and feelings to paper. The world will never forget that tragic day and the horrific events that unfolded right before our eyes. This book is in memory of all those fallen friends and family.

The guidelines were relatively simple. Printmakers were to submit an original print that was created using hand pulled or press pulled printmaking processes.
For example: etchings, woodcuts, lithographs, photogravure, screenprints, engravings etc... any combination as well. Just no photographs and completely digital reproductions such as giclees were allowed.

Printmakers were allowed to submit more than one print though they would only have one image in the main body of the book.

Each of the printmakers that appear in the main body of the book were given two pages. The left page to be their written material and the right to show their print image. In the written area some printmakers chose to explain about their image, others wrote a poem. It was for the printmaker to decide. The book has a large variety of writing styles and hopefully they were all interpreted correctly by the editor. More than once there was a definate language barrier that was hopefully hurdled correctly.
